It Began as a Dream to Supplement my Pastor Salary

Starting out in pastoral ministry more than 20 years ago, with a stay-at-home wife and five children to feed, I know what it's like to struggle financially at times, living paycheck to paycheck, and dreaming of being able to provide more for my family one day.

Back then, I looked for some kind of pathway I could follow that would help me grow my income and begin to build financial security.

I never found one. So I decided to create my own path instead.

To be honest, I tried a lot of different ways to make extra money. Some were a good fit - and financially worthwhile. Many were not. And some ended up being pretty big mistakes with multiple zeroes on the end of them, if you know what I mean.

Then one day, God helped me see that the pathway I had been looking and praying for had already been provided.

And it was in that moment that I realized that God had already given me, as a pastor, certain passions, skills, and experiences that could be monetized and leveraged into multiple streams of income outside the church.

And I decided to focus my energies on developing streams of income that aligned best with the person he made me to be.

It Became a Mission to Help Other Ministry Families

And now I've made it my mission to help other pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders do the same.

Because I know I'm not the only pastor dreaming of being able to provide more for their family. In fact, I've heard from a lot of...

• Broke pastors desperate to find ways to make extra money for their family
• Missionaries stuck in their support raising, wondering if they could find ways to self-fund]
• Leaders looking for ways to future-proof their personal income, because they see how churches are struggling now to survive on declining tithes and offerings.

So I've had this idea for a while:

What if there was a community where pastors, missionaries, and other ministry leaders could come together and find the clarity, tools, and support they need to start, build, and grow their own income pathways?

I'm kinda embarrassed to say I kept putting it off for some time. I haven't created it yet because I didn't have it all figured out,  and wasn't sure of all the things that should be included in this type of community.

But a couple of my pastor friends keep nagging me, saying, "Rich, come on, when are you going to launch this? You know pastors need this. We need this."

So I've decided to stop dragging my feet and start launching this community. For now, I'm calling it the More Than a Pastor Members Club.

And I've set a goal to help 1,000 pastors, missionaries, or other ministry leaders begin to supplement, or even replace, their current ministry income in the next five years.

But I don't want to charge that right now since we're just getting things started from scratch.
